Exercising for the fun!

There are many fun ways you can ensure you exercise, if your regular routines have been boring or you’re just tired of that DVD, or you’ve still not been able to summon courage to join that gym, here are a few tips that can keep you fit without frustration.

1.    Dancing to your favourite kind of music

This I know we can all relate to, whether you are a Shina Peter’s or Obey’s fan or even Asha’s, good music is always easy to dance to. Get up on your feet, feel free to grab your spouse and dance to at least four of your favourite songs in that album. Interchanging between and low beat and high beat songs will help regulate your heart gradually, over time gradually increase the number of songs, thereby increasing the time you spend dancing. Remember those days you had the body to stand all night in the club? Who says you cannot have that in the comfort of your home during the day? 🙂

If you have neighbours don’t forget to use earphones. While dancing be careful of; sudden turns and twists and be careful when jumping, even if it’s “Azonto” that’s playing.

2.    Play a fun and active game (with the Kids or Spouse)

Spending time with our loved one(s) is what we all look forward to.  Family fitness can go a long way in improving the health of your family and can make exercise a pleasure while developing stronger bonds. Remember, there is strength in numbers even if it means getting fit.

When the whole family joins in the fitness regime, you will discover the wonders of such activity. You and your family will not only become healthier and fit, they will also get rid of several (unnecessary) ailments and will get better concentration as well as reduced stress levels.

3.    Move your treadmill or exercise bike in front of the television set

It is absolutely possible to improve your fitness level in front of the TV, if the intensity is adequate, just as it is quite possible to go to a fitness center several times per week and not improve your fitness level. Given how much TV most of us watch, exercising at the same time is not a bad idea. You can watch your favourite TV shows on a bike, elliptical, rower or treadmill, just move them in front it. It is multitasking at its best!

4.    Romantic evening walks

Walking is one of the best cardiovascular exercises, because it keeps you fit without jarring your knees and ankles. It’s also a safe activity if you haven’t previously been active.

It is an excellent way to tone muscles, get fresh air, keep your body regulated, and help you sleep soundly at night. But remember: never push yourself to the point of exhaustion. It’s much better to take several short, pleasant walks spaced throughout the day rather than one long, tiring trek.

Romantic walks with your spouse can be very effective, as you talk about how each other’s days went, especially with our busy schedules.

Get started today and get that great body.
